How Pricing Works

Cactus Emporumm is quote-based. Pricing is not random, but final quotes depend on the exact plant, size, genetics, sale form, availability, preparation needs, pickup, and shipping.

Pricing Is Quote-Based

All plants are sold as ornamental collector plants only.

Cactus Emporumm does not use a one-price-fits-all catalog. Live plants vary by size, condition, growth form, genetics, root status, availability, and preparation needs.

Pricing is explained before purchase, but final price is confirmed only through a quote. A quote is not a reservation.

No plant is held, cut, packed, boxed, or removed from availability until a deposit or full payment has been received and accepted.

What Affects Price

Plant

Genetic / Type

Common farm stock, named stock, premium genetics, grafts, and low-stock plants are not priced the same.

Size

Height, Length, or Form

Larger rooted plants and longer cuttings usually quote higher than smaller pieces. Some plants are priced by form instead of height.

Sale Form

Rooted, Cutting, or Potted

A rooted plant, fresh cutting, bare-root plant, and whole potted plant each require different handling.

Availability

Main Stock vs. Limited Stock

Main stock is easier to quote. Limited plants, mother plants, rare genetics, and grafts are premium-priced.

Prep

Cutting, Callus, Packing

Cutting, drying, callusing, bare-rooting, packing, and boxing can affect the quote and timing.

Delivery

Pickup or Shipping

Local pickup is preferred when possible. Shipping is quoted separately and confirmed before payment.

Sale Forms

Sale Form How It Is Quoted Important Notes
Whole rooted plant Based on plant, genetic, size, root status, condition, and availability. Usually more involved than a cutting because the plant is already rooted and established.
Bare-root rooted plant Based on plant price plus prep, handling, and shipping needs if shipped. May be preferred for shipping compared with whole potted shipment.
Cutting Based on genetic, length, thickness, condition, and whether the stock is common or premium. Requires payment first and at least two weeks to callus before shipping.
Whole potted plant Special quote only. Heavier, riskier, and more expensive to pack or ship. Local pickup is strongly preferred.
Mother plant / graft / rare stock Premium quote only. May be held back unless a premium quote is agreed upon.

Common Stock vs. Premium Stock

Main Stock

Common / Available Farm Stock

Main stock is generally the easiest to quote because availability is stronger. These plants are usually quoted by size, sale form, and pickup or shipping needs.

Premium Stock

Limited Genetics, Grafts & Mothers

Premium stock is quoted higher because selling or cutting it can affect future availability. Some plants may only be available if the quote makes sense for the farm.

Special Case

T.B.M and Form-Based Pricing

T.B.M and similar growth forms may be quoted by node count, shape, form, and overall character rather than simple height.

Plant Price, Handling & Shipping

A quote may include more than one part. The plant price is not always the full final cost.

  1. Plant price: the plant, cutting, graft, or rooted specimen being quoted.
  2. Handling or preparation: cutting, callusing, bare-rooting, packing, boxing, or special handling if needed.
  3. Shipping: quoted separately when shipping is requested.
Shipping may change until the package size, packed weight, destination, carrier, and label purchase are finalized.

Deposits & Quote Timing

Quotes are valid for 48 hours only. Availability is limited and first come, first served.

Deposit amount may depend on the quoted price, plant type, availability, and work needed to prepare the plant. A deposit or full payment must be received and accepted before a plant is reserved or prepared.

Accepted payment methods are confirmed during the quote process. Deposits become non-refundable once cutting, prep, packing, or holding begins.
